Description

Bring back the nostalgic flavors of your childhood with this School Pizza Recipe! A soft, rectangular crust topped with tangy tomato sauce, gooey mozzarella cheese, and seasoned ground beef, this classic cafeteria-style pizza is as easy to make as it is delicious. Perfect for family dinners, casual get-togethers, or simply reliving those school-day memories.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 lb ground beef, cooked and seasoned
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for greasing the pan)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C). Grease a rectangular baking sheet with olive oil or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to fit the baking sheet. Transfer it to the sheet and press into the edges, creating a slight crust.
  3. Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  4. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese generously over the sauce.
  5. Cook the ground beef with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until fully browned. Drain any excess grease and distribute the beef evenly over the cheese.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15–18 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown, and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Remove from the oven and let the pizza cool slightly. Slice into rectangular pieces, serve, and enjoy!

Notes

  • For an authentic cafeteria-style crust, use a thick dough and bake in a rectangular pan.
  • Add extra toppings like pepperoni, mushrooms, or green peppers if desired.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 1 month. Reheat in the oven for the best results.
