Description

These Mini Mozzarella Sticks are a bite-sized take on the classic appetizer, perfect for parties, snacks, or anytime you’re craving cheesy goodness. With a crunchy golden coating and melty center, they’re easy to make and endlessly dippable in your favorite sauces.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 mozzarella string cheese sticks, cut into thirds
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Dipping sauces (marinara, ranch, or your favorite)

Instructions

  1. Cut each mozzarella stick into three equal pieces to create mini portions.
  2. Prepare three shallow dishes: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan, salt, and pepper.
  3. Coat each cheese piece in flour, then dip into the egg, and roll in breadcrumbs. Repeat the egg and breadcrumb coating for an extra-crispy layer.
  4. Place the breaded mozzarella pieces on a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze for at least 1 hour.
  5. Heat oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Fry the frozen mozzarella sticks in small batches for 1-2 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
  8. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

  • For added flavor, mix garlic powder or Italian seasoning into the breadcrumbs.
  • Uncooked breaded mozzarella sticks can be frozen for up to 3 months. Fry directly from frozen for easy prep.
  • Reheat leftovers in an air fryer or oven to maintain their crispiness.
